The shootings started back in January of 2016, 9 people were shot and killed, and 2 people were shot and wounded. On January 1, 22-year-old Jesse Olivas was shot to death. On March 17, a 16-year-old boy was shot and wounded while walking down the street. On March 18 a 21-year-old man was shot and wounded while standing outside his vehicle. On April 1, 21-year-old Diego Verdugo-Sanchez was shot and killed. On April 19, 55-year-old Krystal Annette White was found shot to death. On June 1, 32-year-old Horacio Pena was shot to death outside his house. On June 10, 19-year-old Manuel Castro Garcia was killed outside his house as well. On June 12 33-year-old Stefanie Ellis, her 12-year-old daughter Maleah and her friend Angela Linner were killed while they were in a vehicle listening to music. Saucedos last shooting was on July 11, he opened fire on a car occupied by a 21-year-old man and a four-year-old boy. Over 3,000 tips were made to the Phoenix Police department and police finally got a suspect. 23-year-old Aaron Juan Saucedo had been in another crime which was that he shot 61-year-old Raul Romero to death Romero was the frond of Aarons Mother.
On April 22, 2017, Aaron Saucedo became a person of interest when the 21-year-old man chose him out of a line-up. Aaron owned a black BMW as the one the shooter had reported to been driving, Sauced also matched the composite sketch. A former classmate of Saucedo reported that Saucedo never had violent behavior. She claimed that he was happy and friendly. Saucedo attended North high school as well as Central High school which are both part of the Phoenix union High school district. His former classmate also said “When Aaron’s name popped up, I thought, ‘Absolutely not. No. There’s no way we could believe it.” Saucedo was a bus driver for the city of Phoenix through a temp agency for several months in July through August 2015. Aaron claims that he is innocent but faces 26 felony counts of homicide, aggravated assault and drive-by shooting for 12 shootings that took place between August 2015 and July 2016. He is being held on bond for $750,000.
